Beer News

It looks like Texas Microbrew laws are about to go from completely terrible to halfway terrible. Finally, microbreweries will be able to sell beer on site. However, not to go.

Whenever I go to Colorado I tour breweries, and come home with a haul of beers that will never make it to the store, or even a bottle. I share it with my beer loving friends, especially the guy who brews his own, and the breweries gain new fans.

All true beer lovers know what makes this possible. Our good friend the Growler, which by the way is the coolest name for anything ever. For some reason, even if this newest legislation gets passed Growlers will still be verboten in Texas.

This legislation is a good start. Hopefully the Texas microbreweries will make believers out of the Texas House, and Free the Growler!

                                                      Growlers: Simple, yet glorious!

For all the details check out Ronnie Crocker with the Houston Chronicle. He is doing a solid job of covering this. http://blog.chron.com/beertx/2013/05/texas-house-approves-beer-bills-on-second-reading/
